The season's final chapter was written on Saturday evening as New Hampshire defeated Vermont in the 34th annual Make-A-Wish All Star game by a score of 1-0. 2026 graduates, Ronan Przydzielski and Jorgen Drent, wrapped up their Hanover careers alongside long time granite state high school foes and together they captured the twin state trophy. Earlier this month four hockey players from Hanover High School were recognized for their outstanding accomplishments in academics and interscholastic athletics, having maintained a B+ average or above while having participated in at least two seasons of NHIAA recognized varsity sports each year of high school. Congratulations Heidi Kauffman, Maggie Feng, Ronan Przydzielski, and Jorgen Drent.

It was not the ending that we were all hoping for last Wednesday, but it was still a fantastic and improbable run and there is a lot to be grateful for. The boys entered the playoffs as the #10 seed and the last to qualify before defeating #7 Londonderry in double OT in the preliminary round, and #2 Trinity in the quarter finals. Two thrilling games that would not have been possible without a team first approach and hard nosed effort by the group. Ultimately the boys were defeated 4-3 in the NHIAA D1 semi finals against a very good Bishop Guertin team that went on to win this year’s title. For the 2026 seniors, Ryan, Ronan, and Jojo it was the experience of playing for coach Richard "Dick" Dodds all four years of their high school careers that made the journey so special. Coach Dodds, who ends the 2025/26 campaign with a career total of 634 wins, has lead the boys hockey team for over four decades. He is the glue that continues to bind the Hanover hockey culture together as it is the smallest school to participate in Division 1 NHIAA hockey. The support from businesses, boosters, alumni, student body, faculty, friends and family were all felt this year. It truly was a community effort! Evidence of that local support was the landslide vote of yes to bring back junior varsity hockey at Hanover High School. With this kind of continued support in our community title #10 will eventually be in hand for HHS Hockey.
