🚨 IT’S OFFICIAL🚨 Everyone help us welcome Coach “KO” to the family!

“Kaitlin Oliver joins the Cumberland University Women’s Basketball staff, bringing eight years of coaching experience across multiple high school programs in Middle Tennessee.
Oliver spent her coaching career at three distinguished programs — Antioch High School, Oakland High School, and La Vergne High School — where she built a reputation for developing competitive players, nurturing student-athlete growth, and contributing to winning cultures at each stop. Her work across recruiting pipelines, player development, and scouting at the high school level gives her a unique perspective on identifying and mentoring talent at Cumberland.
A Cumberland alum herself, Oliver knows the Phoenix program from the inside. She played four years of basketball at Cumberland University from 2014 to 2018, serving as a forward and advancing to the NAIA National Tournament in three of her four seasons — a run of postseason success that shaped her understanding of what championship-level preparation looks like.
Before arriving at Cumberland as a student-athlete, Oliver was a standout two-sport competitor at Oakland High School, where she starred in both basketball and Track & Field. On the court, she averaged 10.9 points per game and led her team to multiple District, Region, and Sub-State competitions. On the track, she was an elite mid-distance runner who still holds the school record in the 800m — a mark that remains on the books to this day.
Oliver brings a strong academic foundation to her coaching career, holding a Bachelor of Science in Psychology as well as a Master’s Degree in Education and Sports — credentials that will directly inform her approach to player development and the broader student-athlete experience at Cumberland.

“Having coached for eight years and experienced this program firsthand as a player, I understand what it takes to succeed at this level. I’m incredibly excited to give back to a place that shaped so much of who I am.”
— Kaitlin Oliver, Assistant Coach”
