Michael has been an exceptional mentor to my son in guiding his musical journey and in his growth as a person. Through Michael’s guidance my son has been recognized with numerous gold medal for his solos and ensembles, competed at the state solo competition, been selected for the Jr. All State Band, and attended IU Music Camp. I entirely credit these successes to Michael's commitment and encouragement.

Many experiences in life come and go with no lasting impression, but every once in a while you have an experience or interaction that never seems to leave you- thus was my time spent under the direction of Michael. As a new member of the school band, with limited playing experience, he was able to meet me right where I was in my musical journey. With his tailored approach consisting of outside of the box teaching methods, coupled with his knowledge and experience, I was voted the most improved band member in just one semesters time. His love of music and passion for teaching is truly unparalleled.
