Dallas Cinco de Mayo Super NIT CHAMPIONS.
This past weekend, our 14U American squad went to Dallas and walked away with the Cinco de Mayo Super NIT title. 5 games. 2 comeback wins. One walk off. And a group of dogs that refused to quit.
Down late in 2 of the 5 games, we battled back. Sal delivered the walk off after Jordan came in and shut it down on the mound in a must win pool play game just to get in the gold bracket.
First bracket game we found ourselves down 3 early, but again, it didn't affect us. Caleb come in relief and shuts it down, also delivers an inside the park 3 run home run as we end up winning 6-4 after being down 4-0 in the 3rd inning.
In the semis on Sunday, AJ flat out dominated. He carved up one of the best lineups in the tournament and earned MVP Pitcher of the whole event.
Then what can I say, the Championship game we made our minds up we did not travel all the way to Dallas for 2nd place. The boys locked in, Coop does what Coop does and dominates on the mound. We end up getting into their bull pen in the 2nd inning and then dominated for a 12-0 championship game run rule.
Proud is an understatement. This team earned every bit of it.
Now we move into this weekend in San Antonio to try to make it a 3 peat in Super NITs. Let’s keep it going.
