So proud of all of our Venom players! The last two nights they have played their hearts out. Got the win on Monday night vs. the Crush, 15-13 and then pushed one of our league's best teams to their last at bats before falling 10-8.

These girls have come a long way in a short time this season. We are all very proud of what they've accomplished. Two games left this season. Let's make them fun and memorable.

What a great game tonight Venom!! We won our first game of the season, 9-4, because of every girls' efforts. So proud of the way you played as a team and kept your spirits high throughout. All of your practice and hard work are paying off. Well done!

Opening Day is finally here! Here's the schedule for tomorrow:

9 a.m. - Opening ceremonies, all teams will be introduced and the first pitch will be thrown out. Spirit award will be given to loudest team.

10 a.m. - Activities open, including moonwalk, popcorn and cotton candy stands.

10:20 a.m. - Venom Team Photo time.

10:30 a.m. - Food lines open. City's Parks Department will be cooking hot dogs with refreshments.

Noon - Our first game of the season as part of a single-elimination tournament. We play the Misfits on Field 6 at the Sportsplex.

Well, the Sportsplex is too wet, so we're moving practice to Acrofit On Deck, 431 Columbia Memorial Pkwy, Kemah, TX 77565, from 7 to 8 p.m. Hope to scrimmage the League City Legends next Tuesday.

Happy Friday team! Looking forward to practice tomorrow morning at 10 a.m.

In the meantime, we put together the order for the official practice Ts on CustomInk. If you'd like to place an order for your daughter, please go to this page and select the sizing and quantity you'd like to purchase by next Thursday, Feb. 14 at 5 p.m. The more shirts we order, the less expensive they are. We'll be collecting money at next Saturday's practice.

As soon as we know the girls' jersey numbers, we'll create the order for the parents' Ts.

Tonight's practice has been canceled because the fields are still too wet at the Sportsplex following yesterday's rains. We'll be back at it on Saturday.

Just a quick heads up … The city has sent out an email to coaches letting us know that practice has been canceled for Thursday, Feb. 7 at the Sportsplex because the fields are too wet still after yesterday’s rains.
