SNAKES!!!
Does Lawton Animal Welfare respond to Snake calls?
How can there be Snakes in Downtown Lawton, Oklahoma?
Wildlife is everywhere, they do not understand that they are at Cherry's Place, they only understand that they have been displaced, and are either looking for food, or for a new home.
With the Construction going on Railroad Street, several species of wildlife have been displaced.
Each time we build on a lot, or disturb an area, which has been vacant for any given amount of time, we are pushing not just snakes, but raccoons, opossums, field mice, and a ton of other little critters out of their HOMES.
If you happen to see a snake, Please Do NOT try to KILL it, just keep your distance and give us a call at 580-581-3272 and we’ll come pick it up and relocate them.
Today this just happened to be a male Bull Snake, which keep our mouse population down and are a very valuable part of the ecosystem, here in Lawton.
In this picture with me was Councilwoman Cherry Phillips, who wanted to know if we could put out the word that wildlife, such as this snake is all over Lawton, so this is what I’m attempting to do.
Thank You Everyone who uses our services instead of killing these little ones.
