Southwest Institute of Martial Arts Teaching respect, responsibility and building confidence through martial arts. Mr.

Scott began his studies of the Chinese Martial Arts with Grandmaster Hwang, Chong Ho in 1975 and Grandmaster Guo, Jianhua in 1986. Scott teaches traditional Northern Shaolin Long Fist Kung Fu, Contemporary Wushu and Tai Chi Ch'uan. Cozart trained in Japanese Kyokushinkai under Grandmaster Denny Holzbauer, and in Tae Kwon Do under Grandmaster Ki, Whang Kim, a pioneer in establishing Korean Karete and Tang Soo Do in America and his number 1, Grandmaster Albert Cheeks.

There have been some changes to the operating hours of the school. The school is now open for Kung Fu on Mondays at 630 PM until 0745 PM. The hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays are the same, Tai Chi from 615 PM until 715 PM, children's class from 630 PM until 730 PM. The Adults class is from 730 PM until 900 PM. On Wednesdays, Tai Chi is from 615 PM until 715 PM. Friday evenings, the school is open from 630 PM until 800 PM and on Saturdays is by appointment only.

As teachers, it’s important we remember that. Sometimes the greatest thing we can offer a student is not technique, but space. A calm environment. Patience. Presence. A moment away from chaos.
Skill matters, of course. But helping another human being find stillness in a noisy world - that is also a form of mastery.
