Tarbone Ranch was founded by Ken Cook and his family in 2006. In January of 2016 Ken Cook passed away of a heart attack. Since his death, we have continued to run the ranch and hunts as he would have wanted. We plan share the outdoors with people just as he did. That is the legacy he would have wanted. ts to making Tarbone Ranch a destination for others who shared his passion for the outdoors and hunting. We offer a limited number of hunting and photographic safari opportunities for the trophy game animals that live here. We strive to produce top end trophies from our herds of deer, elk and bison by allowing them to reach their potential mature size. To enhance these possibilities, we maintain food plots of several varieties as well as native grasses. We supplement the native food availability with high protein deer and elk feed to assure the animals have a continuous supply of nutrition to maximize their opportunity to reach maximum size and health. We have built a hunting cabin on the property to house our guests in a place that is surrounded by the beauty of the Wichita Mountains and animals. It is not a five star lodge, but rather a rustic cabin in the woods with all the necessary amenities to assure our visitors an excellent opportunity to enjoy their stay.

We only have a few hunts on the books to wrap up our 2025 season and nearly booked for 2026, so DM us to book! There are many great ranches throughout this state and nation to hunt with, I’ve had the pleasure of seeing many of them in person! One thing I can guarantee after guiding for 20+ years professionally now in multiple states and countries throughout my career is that our scenery, our professional staff, videography, photography, cooking and our spot and stalk hunting experience is second to none! To our clients that have seen it all with us, we thank you for coming back and making great memories! For the ones to come, we welcome you to experience a hunt like never before!

We hunted hard in the rain last week and we were rewarded! The ranch got over 7” of rain that week which never slowed us down. Congrats to Cary and Micheal on the wonderful Tarbone elk and whitetail! We always love having families hunt together with us.
