We’re thrilled to officially announce Nathan Hunt as the new Head Coach of the Men’s Dutch National Team (MDNT) — for both Field and Sixes. 🧡🥍

After a thorough selection process with many strong candidates, Nathan’s experience, vision to grow Dutch lacrosse, and commitment to building a strong local community truly stood out.

We’re confident that under his leadership, the MDNT will continue to develop the next generation of Dutch lacrosse talent and set the standard for the future of the sport in the Netherlands. 💪

📣 NEW STAFF NEEDED!

The Men’s Dutch National Team (MDNT) started their search for their next Head Coach, along with openings for assistant coaches, and teams managers. All positions are open and applications are now being accepted. If you are interested in being a part of the program, email [email protected] with your CV and a short statement of motivation (in Dutch or English) by 10 August.

Demonstrated previous coaching experience is required for the head coach positions, but previous coaching experience is NOT required for assistant coaches and managers! Assistance is available in the form of mentorship and guidance from experienced coaches to help you develop your coaching skills.

You will be part of a team that is also focused on developing coaching in the Netherlands. If you are a dedicated individual that wants to grow Dutch lacrosse, then we want to hear from you!

Thank you Coach Tom! 👏🥍🇳🇱

All good things must come to an end. For the last 10 years, Coach Tom Thayer has guided the MDNT program through ups and downs, victories and losses, successes and hardships.

Starting with the European Championships in 2016, Tom took the program to new heights, leading the team to 5 total major international tournaments (Worlds in 2018, European Qualifiers in 2022, Worlds in 2023, and finally Euros in 2025).

The program got better and better each year, culminating in a best ever 14th place finish at the World Championships in San Diego and more recently a honorable top 9 finish in Wroclaw. His dedication and passion to the team were unmatched, and the program will forever be in his debt.

The program is now in a better place than he found it, with solid foundation to continue building off of what he helped establish. So THANK YOU & DANKJEWEL TOM! From all of Dutch lacrosse. For everything. And good luck in your coming endeavors!

As the dust begins to settle after the European Championships, a proper reflection wouldn’t be complete without a HUGE shoutout to our amazing coaching staff!!

Thank you to our amazing coaches and staff for doing an absolutely amazing job in the lead up and during the European Championships. We wouldn’t have made it this far without all of the support, guidance and coaching!

Congratulations to for being awarded the “Spirit of Lacrosse” award! 🥍

The Spirit of Lacrosse award is given out at every major tournament to the individual on each team who best represents the core values of lacrosse (teamwork, courage, dedication) and the program itself (selflessness, discipline, passion) both on and off the field.

Very well deserved for Thomas who is a true ambassador of the sport and of Nederland Lacrosse.

What a way to end the tournament with a great game that was close to the very end. Proud of these men for a 6-2 run on the tournament and ending up 9th in Europe. Not the goal we aimed for, but it’s leaving us hungry for more!
