✅Wisdom Wednesday continues! We often hear this question… How long will it take my child to learn to swim on their own?

The answer is…it truly depends on your specific situation and child as every swimmer learns differently and at their own skill level!

⬇️Here at Eggert Aquatics, we emphasize the essential skills through repetition, fun learning environments, social cues, group learning, and of course, utilizing new swim tools! There are many skills to learn before a swimmer is ready to swim independently.

While it is typical to see a progression after six swim lessons, we also understand each swimmer is different and learns at their own pace.

Each lesson is individually curated to meet you where you are (or where the group is) to ensure mastery of one skill before heading into the next. From basic water safety skills to diving deep into the water, we have a new technique for any age or skill level.

From floatation devices to dive sticks, there’s something to help your swimmer from day 1 to day 100!

Our instructors are always engaged, but to break things up and add a little fun into the mix, we always throw in a tool (or more) depending on the lesson and skill level.

If your child thrives a social environment where each swimmer can motivate the next, they appreciate a mix of both independence and group learning, and they follow directions well in a group setting…this may be the sign you’ve been looking for!

Our group lessons happen in small groups where our instructors cater the lessons to the age and skill level of that particular group. We offer both group skills and individual skills within a group setting - so you get the best of both worlds!

🎉Some children learn best by observing. If your child watches other children and then tries to mimic what they’re doing, group lessons can actually accelerate their confidence and progress.
