It’s been a good year for the gym so far. That has resulted in me being able to add some nice new equipment. This is just the start. I have more changes planned for the near and long term future of the gym. I want to thank all my new members and especially those who have been with me long term. There is no gym without you guys.

I realize it’s been quite a while since I’ve posted anything. I thought I’d give an update and deliver some good news.

The gym is doing well as far as sustaining itself. We’ve had quite the influx of new members. I hope everyone is satisfied with their own personal experience at the gym. If you have any issues please contact me personally and I’ll do my best to address them.

I am adding a new piece of equipment to the gym very soon to replace an older piece. It’s going to be an awesome new piece and I’m excited to be able to add it.

One thing I forgot to mention yesterday:

We are not allowed to use water fountains or coolers. Please bring your own water. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Just a reminder: The gym reopens Monday. I will be taking dues out by Tuesday and the 1st of each month from here on out.

I have a standing whiteboard with some instructions on how we stay open as you enter the building.

Update again. Lol

We will be opening back up on June 1st. I just saw that this morning that gyms can reopen on the 1st.

I plan on switching the dues date to the first to match reopening. If that’s an issue let me know and I’ll just do half on the 1st and full on the 15th.

Ok folks, time for another update. I was surprised Tuesday to find I had $1000 from the SBA added to the gyms bank account. Guess I got my loan as little as it is. That will get us through another month, though.

Small gym owners have gone to Governor Beshear to ask to be allowed to open since we are so much smaller and easier to manage than the large gyms. No response as of me typing this. Still looking at a June or later reopening.

It will be a whole new world when we reopen.
- 5 or less in the gym at a time. This is based on building size.
- hand sanitizer when you come in and cleaning equipment as you finish with it
- working out alone and no spotting is what’s being asked for
- must stay away from one another. Social distancing rules will apply.
- I’ve even seen gyms that said they will take peoples temperatures as they enter. I have to work so I won’t be able to do that.

I just ask that people be responsible and if you feel the slightest bit like you have covid symptoms do not come to the gym.

I thought I might give everyone an update on how the gym is doing. I have been unable to get one of the stimulus loans. As some of you have seen, that whole program is BS. The banks have been giving the money to larger businesses that don’t even qualify for the program and the program ran out of money. Congress is putting a new bill through that will fortify the program for 2 days so I don’t look to get any help from that end of things.

My bank did contact me saying that they would make my next 6 loan payments for me and I don’t have to pay them back. That will essentially pay off the gym and does greatly help. As long as we can open back up by June we will be fine.

Just so we’re clear, I’m in no way conceding the gym to closure. My landlord is working with me some and I’m sure there will be programs for small businesses. As long as this is not some crazy long period I’ll be fine. I love this gym and appreciate each and every one of you. I’ll be back the second I’m given the go ahead and look forward to seeing you all again soon.
