Today marks 24 years since the tragic events of 9/11.

On this day in 2001, thousands of lives were lost and countless more were changed forever. The bravery of the firefighters, police officers, paramedics and many many others, remains one of the most powerful legacies of that day.

9/11 not only shook the world; it reshaped how emergency services prepare, respond and work together across the globe.

The two vehicles seen here in these photos are on display at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum in New York, a poignant reminder of the sacrifice, courage and resilience shown on that horrific day.

Today, we pause to remember the victims, honour the heroes, and reflect on how this tragedy continues to influence the work of those who keep us safe.
