I have been custom building my own boards for 3 years now out of simple wood veneer. Since moving to college I haven't had the time to do the building I am wanting to do and getting boards manufactured has always been a dream. And that's when Bare Neccesity Boards was born. Over the past 3 years I have gained much experience and knowledge with board building and have reached out to a Manufacturer
that I know would hold the same quality and functionality I care about, for my customers. Along with the knowledge I have gained I have many bright ideas for the future and have many goals to achieve. In my mind, Simplicity Board Company brings the rider the board he has always dreamed of. To me, skateboarding is overcomplicated by fancy designs with unseen results. BNB was made to bring back skateboarding to what it should be- wood pushing. The simple pleasure mellow concave puts the riders feet in the right spot. The idea behind the simplicity is to allow more advanced riders space on the board to make small footing adjustments during races or slides to error correct on the go. If boards are crowded with wheel flare, w concave, micro drops the riders have an odd time moving their feet where they need to go. My idea is that keeping the board open and simple will drive technique back to where it should be in such an extreme sport.
