Join LHS Track & Field for a rubber duck race on October 17, 2026, between the gyms at Lawrence High School! Adopt your duck at the event starting at 8:15 AM, then cheer it on when the race begins at 9:00 AM.

A $3 donation gets you one duck, or adopt four for $10. Bring chairs and blankets to line the stream and watch the race. We’ll also have face painting, yard games, music, and prizes for both the Winning Duck and the Lamest Duck in last place!

Adopt a duck. Back the track!

Tonight we honored the 2026 Lions Leg Award Recipient Billy Mills icon, Ms. Tawnia Lashley!!!

Coach Lashley will retire this spring after a full career of teaching, coaching, sponsoring, and being a staple at after school activities at the middle school AND high schools. Lashley will retire having made an impact on an unquantifiable amount of students and staff across the district.

Today we salute her, recognize her, and celebrate her for all that she’s done and meant to the Lawrence community, and to the kids who find their way through sports.

Thank you for running your leg of the race Ms. Lashley, you’ve given so much, the next person up has quite the shoes to fill. 🦁🖤❤️
