Pretty sure most of goalies had to deal with the same problem. During games especially in pro leagues they are using pegs that holds the net well. But even in the pros, the pegs which are used in practice, don’t hold the net in position, what makes it almost impossible to train good and using the post to push off of the post or slide into it. In the last 10-15 years the goalie style changed a lot,

including the position on the post and how to use the net to place himself into a good position. So a lot goalies are using the post to push into it or off of the post to get back in position again. The hockey game changed, the style of goalies changed but what didn't changed, is the anchor system for the goals. Beside the Pro leagues, which are using Flex Pegs, most of leagues and rinks didn’t changed their anchor system and which makes it almost impossible to play the current style of goaltending in practices and games. Rec-League goalies know the pain of inferior net pegs and posts that always come off but imagine having to deal with that at the World Championships? Noora Räty did and it cost her the winning goal against Russia.
