USNETO is excited to announce its annual TREC 2-Phase Obstacle and Control of Paces Series for 2026. This year we are at a new venue where we will be developing a new course designated exclusively for TREC! Never heard of TREC before? No problem! This series is designed just for you. The first event will be a clinic/competition combo with each event after offering a little less instruction before the competition. All events remain casual and supportive with the ultimate goal to have FUN with our equine partners! There will be prizes for all divisions and levels as well year end awards. You DO NOT have to attend all events to be eligible.

The first EquiTREC of 2026 was a wonderful day spent in the woods at the Walthour-Moss Foundation. Riders used their map and compass to navigate the area known as Magnolia Hill. We worked on using direction and topography to determine where we were on the map and how to plan our path based on our desired riding time. Congratulations orienteers on a successful ride! Mark your calendar for June 6th and National Trails Day where we will work on determining pace and distance at Raven Rock State Park.

Tomorrow is the first of the 2026 EquiTREC series. There is still room if anyone wants to register at the last minute. Due to the rising cost of fuel we have made some venue changes to keep travel costs to a minimum. Hopefully, we will be able to plan bigger adventures next year. The series remains extremely affordable at $25 for members and $35 for non members. Get out on the trail and take your orienteering skills to the next level!
