The final tally of the Rocky Gorge Hall of Fame Class of 2026 spotlights is the binder, Matt “Toad” Carroll! Congratulations to Toad on his playing career and on being selected by his peers to join a group of deserving gentleman!

Before he joined Rocky Gorge, Toad was already a champion, winning a National Championship with Salisbury Rugby in 2004. He came to Rocky Gorge in 2010, winning two National Championships in 2012 and 2014, alongside seven MAC/MARFU titles in 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2023.

His leadership and skill are permanently etched into Gorge history. He was Captain from 2013 to 2015, earned Most Outstanding Forward in 2012, represented the Capital Selects side, and the D1 MVP award in 2023.

He is the living embodiment of what makes a Rocky Gorge Rugby Player, both as a competitor and human being. He is one of the most decorated and deserving inductees to enter the Rocky Gorge Hall of Fame.

Starting off Day 2 of the Rocky Gorge Hall of Fame Class of 2026 spotlights is the engine, Dustin Meehan! Congratulations to Dustin on his playing career and on being selected by his peers to join a group of deserving gentleman!

Dustin started his rugby career at Salisbury and ended up at Rocky Gorge in 2010-2011 as a fly-half destroyer.

Hey was a key player in both the 2012 and 2014 National Championships as well as many other MAC and local championships along the way. In the move to D1 Dustin did not miss a beat as he continued his reign of terror and helped Rocky Gorge be the dominant force for over a decade.

Third in the Rocky Gorge Hall of Fame Class of 2026 spotlights is the artist, Eric “Jesus” Slonaker! Congratulations to Jesus on his playing career and on being selected by his peers to join a group of deserving gentleman!

Eric “Jesus” Slonaker played for UMBC before joining Columbia in 1991. He played fly half for Columbia and continued with Gorge after the merge until 2009.

Jesus was the set-up man and he made everyone around him a better player by creating opportunities to score, getting the ball to teammates at the right time through the right gap.

Although Jesus wasn’t a large man, he was one of the best tacklers. He was known for taking all the big guys down by their legs. Sometimes he would get injured, but he still always gave 100%.

Next in the Rocky Gorge Hall of Fame Class of 2026 spotlights is the player’s player, Mark Miller! Congratulations to Mark on his playing career and on being selected by his peers to join a group of deserving gentleman!

Mark Miller played for Gorge from 1997 through 2011 and was dominant flanker as well as one of the toughest players ever. He was one of our best tacklers and had a motor that never quit. When there were 10 minutes left in a match, you were glad he was on your side.

The play that best sums up Mark’s style is when he got the ball 10 yards out from the try zone. He could have run right and scored relatively untouched. Instead, he ran left directly at the only defender, running over him and scoring. Followed by a 6-gun salute.

ATTENTION!!!

We are having joint Summer training sessions with starting this Monday 5/18 from 6-8 PM and repeating every Monday until our fall training begins.

We are opening our practice to all returning players, interested players, college graduates and current college players. Anyone who is looking to stay in shape, get in shape, maintaining your skills, or learn the sport are welcome to join us.

We are at Walker Field at UMBC. The field doesn’t have an exact address, the parking lot entrance is off of Hilltop Road, but there is a building next to the field that takes you right to it. That address is:

909 Walker Ave
Catonsville, MD 21228

Obviously there are holidays over the summer, which rescheduling announcements for day/time/location will be made. Stay tuned.

If you are a player who is new to the club in any way, feel free to fill out the New Player Form in our bio and representative of the team will reach out. We will see you there!!!
