FOP 89ers Police Hockey Team (PGPD Maryland) The FOP 89'ers is the official hockey team of the Prince Georges County Police Department (Maryland) Keep an eye out for upcoming games and events!

The FOP 89'ers is the official hockey team of the Prince Georges County Police Department and is supported by FOP Lodge 89. The team, its members and their families have a long tradition of service to their communities. One of the main goals of the team is to promote positive interaction between PGPD, other Law Enforcement/ Fire Agencies and the public. The 89'ers organize charity events and fundraising games to support the families of our fallen brothers and sisters. Stay Safe.......-89'ers.

** A couple months late and long overdue **

January 25-30, 2026 the 89ers made the long trek southbound to the sunshine state for the Orlando Firefighters Hockey Club 2026 Battle of the Badges that took place at the RDV Ice Den in Orlando, Florida. Dawning new threads (Courtesy of Black Biscuit Hockey) and a new and improved logo the 89ers took the ice looking for another tourney win. The boys played a well rounded team game each day ultimately going undefeated during the 4 game tournament. Tied with Cincinnati Fire at the end the 89ers took the title and first place with a higher goal differential being the tiebreaker. Champions once again!!

This tournament is always the 89ers favorite tournament of the year and they are already looking forward to the 2027 Battle of the Badges. Next up for the 89ers will be the DC Fire Burn Tournament in Laurel, Maryland April 3-5, 2026.

You see one of the boys around make sure to congratulate them for a championship well deserved!
