It was a beautiful day for the Tom Mailey Memorial Junior Golf Tournament!

The 58th annual Tom Mailey Memorial event for junior golfers was held Friday June 5th
at the Latrobe Elks Golf Club. The event is held in honor of Tom Mailey, a 1958 graduate of Latrobe High School and a 1962 graduate of the US Military Academy at West Point. Tom was an outstanding scholar-athlete. He lost his life in an automobile accident in Columbus, Ohio. Tom was attending Ohio State University graduate school earning his masters and doctorate in nuclear physics.

We had 73 golfers this year. Largest number of junior golfers in several decades!

We had four divisions this year. Division I for ages 17 & 18, Division 2 for 15 & 16 year olds, Division 3 for 12 to 14 year olds, and Division 4 for 9 to 11 year olds. The Divison 4 golfers played nine holes only. The winners are as follows:

Divison I: (17-18)
Winner: Carson Carnahan 91
Runner-up: Miles Smith 93
Divison 2: (15-16)
Winner: Jaxon Makrevski 75
Runner-up: Garret Helman 77
Division 3: (12-14)
Winner: Brady Grabiak 91
Runner-up: Nico Scalise 92
Division 4: (9-11)
Winner: Clay Mulheren 39 for 9
holes.

Jaxson Makrevski was the medalist for this year’s tournament with a great score of 75.
