Often what holds us back isn’t resistance--it’s simple comfort. Sometimes, it feels safer and is easier to settle for short-term success. But accepting something that’s less than ideal when your true goal is in sight is not a win--it’s acquiescing to mediocrity. And when you lower your expectations, it undermines your purpose. How?

Being satisfied with results that are adequate rather than exceptional leads to decreased motivation and stagnation. “Just getting by” stifles growth. It breeds complacency and prevents you from achieving your full potential. Accepting what is “good enough” is an obstacle to excellence.

There are always factors outside of our control, but they aren’t what cause us to fail; it’s when we don’t endure those challenges. So, here’s my challenge to you: Don’t settle for short-term success. Don’t give up on the forest because you see some of the trees. Don’t let ease and comfort distract you from pursuing what matters.
