Four Wright Brothers. One Historic NFR. And Spencer Won It All.
This photo from the 2014 National Finals Rodeo captured one of the most remarkable moments in Wright family history. Cody, Jesse, Jake and Spencer Wright all made it to Las Vegas in saddle bronc riding, putting four brothers on the sport’s biggest stage at the same time.
Going into the NFR, Cody was the highest-ranked brother at No. 2, while Jesse entered No. 8, Spencer No. 13 and Jake No. 14. But Vegas completely changed the story.
At his first NFR, Spencer delivered when it mattered most. He rode all 10 horses, won the NFR Average with 807.5 points, and made an incredible climb from No. 13 all the way to No. 1 in the world, finishing the season with $205,388 and the 2014 PRCA Saddle Bronc World Championship.
Jake also made a tremendous run, climbing from No. 14 to No. 5 in the world. Jesse finished No. 8, while Cody finished No. 9 after battling a shoulder injury late in the Finals.
Four brothers arrived in Vegas together—and when it was over, Spencer Wright was bringing the gold buckle home.

One Father. Four Sons. One Incredible Rodeo Dynasty.
The Wright family didn’t just compete in professional rodeo—they changed what a rodeo family could accomplish.
It started with Cody Wright, the two-time World Champion saddle bronc rider who built the foundation. Then came his four sons: Rusty, Ryder, Stetson and Statler, each carrying the Wright name into the arena and competing at the highest level.
Ryder Wright became a two-time World Champion saddle bronc rider.
Stetson Wright took the family legacy even further, becoming a multiple-time World Champion in the All-Around, bull riding and saddle bronc riding—an extraordinary combination in modern ProRodeo.
Rusty and Statler have also carried the family tradition onto rodeo’s biggest stages, making the Wright name almost synonymous with saddle bronc riding.
But what makes this family special isn’t only the gold buckles.
It’s watching a father teach his sons, brothers compete alongside one another, and another generation grow up believing that hard work, family and the cowboy way still matter.

My name is ShaRee Wright — wife to 2x Saddle Bronc World Champion Cody Wright, and mother to Rusty Wright, Ryder Wright, Stetson Wright, Statler Wright, and Lily Jo. 🆓
I’m also a grandma — and that might just be the best title I’ve ever had.
To four beautiful grandkids, with another on the way. Rookie, almost 4, and little Mem… they’re the next chapter of something that started long before any gold buckles.
Because behind one of rodeo’s greatest families — the Wright family — is a woman who helped hold it all together.
While the world sees champions, titles, and bright lights at the National Finals Rodeo… ShaRee saw the early mornings, the long drives, the sacrifices, and the moments no one else did.
She raised a family where rodeo wasn’t just a sport — it was a way of life.
“I didn’t raise champions… I raised good people. The rest just came with it.”
From supporting Cody through his world titles, to watching her sons carry on the legacy, and now seeing a new generation grow up in the same dust — her story is woven into every ride.
Not in the spotlight.
But in the foundation.
Because every great cowboy story… starts somewhere.

DID THEY SEE THIS COMING? When Stetson and Ryder Wright started thinking about who might stand between them and another World Championship in 2026, they probably had a pretty good idea who the competition would be. Zeke Thurston. Sage Newman. Kade Bruno. Some of the best saddle bronc riders in the world.
But did they ever imagine their biggest competition might come from...their own backyard? Because right now, the man sitting No. 1 in the world is their older brother, Rusty Wright.
Rusty currently leads the PRCA Saddle Bronc Riding World Standings, with Stetson and Ryder breathing right down his neck.
Think about that. Stetson has 10 World Championships, including a saddle bronc gold buckle. Ryder has three World Championships in saddle bronc riding. Rusty has been to the NFR five times and has spent years proving he belongs among the very best. But there's one thing missing. A gold buckle.
And wouldn't this be something? After all those years of practicing together, traveling together, helping one another and competing against one another, Rusty's greatest obstacle to winning his first World Championship may be the same two guys he grew up riding broncs with. His little brothers. And Stetson and Ryder's biggest obstacle? Their big brother.

Go Stetson — But Take Care of Yourself, Too!
We already knew Stetson Wright was a rodeo superstar. At this point, we might have to start calling him a superstar healer, too.
On July 14, the 10-time World Champion underwent knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus and PCL. For most athletes, that sounds like the beginning of a long stretch on the sidelines.
Not Stetson.
Less than a month later, on August 8, Wright was back in the arena at Logan, Utah. He scored 84 points in saddle bronc riding, picked up another check, competed in bull riding and walked away as the All-Around Champion—all while also working his way back from a separated shoulder.
And this isn't his first remarkable comeback.
A serious hamstring injury ended his 2023 NFR early and eventually cost him most of the 2024 season. Stetson came roaring back, and by 2025 he was a World Champion again.
That's what makes watching him in 2026 so remarkable. Ten World Championships, more than $4 million in career earnings, and after everything his body has been through, he's still climbing into the chute and competing with the best.
But there is something more important than another buckle.
Take care of yourself, Stetson. The gold buckles will always be there, but your health and family come first.

Growing up in the Wright family means growing up surrounded by horses, rodeo, family and a whole lot of Western spirit.
Wishing Ryder Wright’s little cowgirl a very Happy Birthday! May your future be filled with happiness, courage and big dreams. And who knows—maybe one day we’ll see another Wright carrying the family name into the rodeo arena, just like Dad.
But wherever her dreams take her, today is simply about celebrating one very special little girl.
