Longish read
So much has changed in the last 5 years that has nothing to do with my weight or how I look. In 2013 I was in the middle of my second stint in the banking world(in which I worked for 10+ years). And my idea of working out was going to play pickup basketball, never was interested in weights.

I was living with my best friend and his brother . Just to hang out with them, I started going to the gym with them. As I started seeing changes, I became obsessed and a sponge for anything fitness related.

I almost immediately gravitated towards strength goals. Although looking better in the mirror was nice and seeing the numbers going up on the scale was cool, the numbers nerd in me loved seeing how much stronger I was getting every week. Finding the cool weird hobby of powerlifting has been such a great teacher for me in so many ways and allowed me to meet some of the coolest people I never would have otherwise come across.

Professionally over this time, I went from having a job I loved in banking and then thru some unfortunate circumstances, lost it and found myself in a position where I hated going to work every day. I tried for pretty much a whole year trying to get the job I loved back, but after my last attempt failed, I took it as an opportunity to chase what had become my passion: Fitness. I got certified as a trainer and quit banking without having a single client. A scary leap.

Serving and helping others transform themselves over the last two years has definitely changed my outlook on what it means to be satisfied with my job and the work I’m doing. I really don’t see what I’m doing as work most days and still look forward to heading to the gym everyday.

In the middle of all this as well, Me and Nick created and brought some amazing people in to grow our own brand, do our own podcast which I’m very proud of and put our logo on some cool gear, having connected with so many and maybe even inspired a few as well.

If you made it this far, you’re cool for reading all this. Thanks.
TL;DR: I went from a skinny basketball nerd to a less skinny powerlifting nerd and have had a lot of fun doing so
