“I don’t think you even know what the rules are most of the time.”
That’s what my husband said when I asked if I’m a rule follower.
And I couldn’t stop laughing—because, well... he’s kind of right. 😂
But here’s the deeper truth:
I don’t follow rules just because they exist.
I follow what makes sense. What aligns.
I need to understand the why behind expectations—and if they don’t feel true to me, I might find a more authentic way forward.
In my latest article, I share this moment, along with a powerful story from one of my coaching clients.

That story shaped how she showed up… until she finally questioned it.
And everything changed.
Here’s the thing: We all carry these stories—about what it means to be good, credible, successful, or even enough.
And those stories? They’re not always true.
In this piece, I unpack what happens when we start redefining the meanings we attach to words, expectations, and even ourselves.
