Yesterday I had the joy of moderating the fabulous Urban Fantasy panel with and .

We talked about what it really takes to build a long-running, sustainable author career.

You know, the glamorous stuff like:

🔥 Whether or not to build a writing system and schedule

🔥 Managing creative energy instead of chasing every shiny idea

🔥 Resisting the urge to start seven new series before lunch

And, of course:

“Maybe don’t order thousands of special editions unless you have multiple places to sell them.”

(Spoken with love and a little bit of trauma.)

There was wisdom.

There was laughter.

And there was one brief moment where I got way too inspired and suddenly have a new project idea for next year.

This is what happens when you talk to fabulous creatives. The brain says “you know what would be fun?” and you just go on the ride.

Viva Las Vegas!

Yesterday was the first day of .nation .

It was like the best family reunion ever getting to laugh with and hug friends I haven’t seen for the last year (or longer!).

Today the sessions begin and I’m getting on stage.

First up this morning is a craft talk and then an accountability program two friends and I’ve created called Crosswrite later this afternoon.

It’s going to be a fabulous day!
