May Madness was no joke at Orangeshow Speedway this past Saturday night. It all started off with some of the fastest cars in the Enduro Modified class sandbagging again to get a better start in the field. In our class it is always just a full invert. We were able to stay on top of the charts until our last lap where my teammate out qualified me by 0.114. Congratulations Mike McIntyre. At the start of the race Mike McIntyre sliced a RR in front of me in turn 3. When we got to turn 1 he was spinning out in front of me but wasn’t able to return. Luis Canales, Troy Hageman, and I were having the battle of our lives. Passing back and forth with many cross overs during our race on the Kidney Bean course. With 3 laps left I was suddenly drilled from behind by a beginner. On the next lap I was side by side trying to regain that position when the same beginner held me down low forcing me to hit a tire head on. I was able to make a last minute maneuver around it. The real unfortunate part of the race was a car lost control on the back straightaway and came full throttle across the infield and t-boned the beginner and took us both out. I was able to roll through the finish line for P2 behind Troy Hageman that was able to miss the reck with Luis Canales coming home in P3. The beginner that was t-boned was a DNF not being able to cross the finish line. As for all of the racers involved we are thanking God that no one was seriously injured. Very scary moment After the race, I was reminded again by that beginner that this was a beginner class and that I didn’t belong there and need to move on.

What a strong weekend for Ozman Motorsports at The Bullring in Las Vegas. Showed up with a whole new setup thinking we were going to shave some time off our lap times but we weren’t any better from the last time out. Actually a tad slower. Learned a tremendous amount about how just changing the tires pressures by 2 pounds can change your setup so much.
We qualified in P5 which landed us in the 4th row outside. During the race the car felt really good but was off the pace of about 3 tenths. It was a little bumpy race with a lot of contact but at the end we somehow pulled off P3. The Bullring is such an awesome place to race whatever class your racing.

Here we are in Vegas at the Bullring for practice. I’m still chasing the setup. Learning how to set the car up for oval racing is very interesting and a challenge.

Back in the shop putting the final touches on everything before the next race.

We’ll be rolling into The Bullring in north Las Vegas on May 2nd ready to put together another great run. Ozman Motorsports is so Grateful for the support behind the scenes—now it’s time to focus and execute.

Oval racing is very unique. This past weekend we were at The LVMS Bullring for our third race ever. With the RSX handling being very temperamental we were a little off our game for the race on Saturday. During Friday practice our shop setup was really good mid corner. For practice/qualifying on Saturday the setup was gone but we qualified P4. We made some adjustments for the race that didn’t help. Like I said this banked oval racing is unique when it comes to setting up the car. The car was definitely off but we were able to salvage out a P5. Congratulations to my teammate Mike McIntyre that went on and finished P2.
I am very Blessed to have Jesus, Great partners and Family along for the ride.
