The Vegas Vipers are about so much more than racing. Our mission is to build a culture of fun, inclusion, and adventure that gets kids on bikes and helps create lifelong cyclists.
Over the years, we’ve been blessed with the support of several outstanding local bike shops. One of those was Southwest Bikes, who proudly sponsored our team for several years.
Recently, Gene from reached out with some incredible news. His dad, Paul, had won a Trek Supercaliber through a NICA drawing and wanted to donate it to a Viper athlete. We were honored that they thought of our team, and after our coaching staff met, the decision was unanimous.
Congratulations, Edwin Stewart!
Edwin joined the Vipers just two seasons ago with little mountain biking experience, learning to ride on a loaner bike from the . As his skills quickly progressed, he moved onto a used trail bike that allowed him to continue growing as a rider.
Since then, Edwin has earned four podium finishes, gets up at 4:00 a.m. four days a week to train, and turned his passion into a paid job at our current sponsor, , our current team sponsor, after first joining the shop as an intern. His work ethic, humility, and dedication embody everything we hope to inspire in our athletes.
A heartfelt thank you to Paul for such an incredibly generous gift, and to Gene and everyone at Southwest Bikes for making sure Edwin rolled out with pedals, bottle cages, and other essentials to get him started right.
Congratulations again, Edwin! We can’t wait to see what you accomplish aboard your new Trek Supercaliber.
Race season is only a few months away, so it’s time to get those miles in. If you know a young person looking for adventure, confidence, and lifelong friendships, send us a message—we’d love to show you what the Vegas Vipers are all about.
