You don’t need extremes in order to lose weight! 👇🏻

Instead, you need to be consistent with the bare bone basics for longer than a few days or even a few weeks.

Here are some of the basics that you might be overlooking when it comes to your weight loss:
• Water intake and hydration
• Moving your body, even in the simple ways like taking the stairs or parking in the back of the parking lot to get in more steps
• Eating enough calories with a good balance of protein, carbs, and fats
• Not going off the deep end every weekend as a way to “treat yourself” for having a “perfect” week
• Eating your veggies and fruit
• Prioritizing your sleep and getting 6-8 hours of sleep
• Managing your stress well and learning to work through the hard things rather than avoiding them

My client Court came to me ready to hit the ground running in a dieting phase. But after looking at her habits and lifestyle, it was clear we needed to focus on those basics. Now here we are, 10 weeks later and she’s down just over 13 pounds.

Great work, Court!

Some days if feels like you’re not moving at all - look closer 👇🏻

All the quiet wins, small battles, and the effort you put in daily add up.

It’s just hard to see because you’re constantly raising the bar - making you feel like these things are inadequate.

Another year around the sun - but I think this year is going to be the best yet. 🥹☀️🎉

I think I say that every year, but it’s true. Sometimes it just feels like I’m living a dream that gets better every single year.

26 was crazy challenging, scary at times, and life changing. But I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Jon and I took a trip to Honduras, my first time out of the country & where we found out I’m pregnant.

I had the opportunity to train and work with some awesome clients at both Premier Fitness in Appleton and Legacy Training Lab in Fond du Lac.

Jon and I finished building the gym in our garage, which I’ve had the chance to train some clients out of as well & get some great lifts in when I could.

We finished lots of house projects as we prepare for Cash’s arrival.

MadStrength thrived in many ways this year, including welcoming a lot of new faces + putting a competitor on stage again (._ 👏🏻🩵)

There’s so much I could reflect on and so many people in my life that made this year of my life so special - but I’ll leave it at this:

Thank you to my friends, family, husband, clients, and more for all of the love & support this year. 26 changed my life and gave me new perspectives on so much.

I’m ready to see what 27 has in store! 🫶🏻

You read that correctly! 👏🏻

Let me clarify - a lot of women either don’t track their periods because they don’t know how or because they don’t understand the benefits behind it or because it seems too complicated.

But have I mentioned how empowering it feels to finally be more in tune with your body? It’s fu***ng magical!

Let’s go over some of the easier ways to track your cycle every month - swipe through this post to learn more!

My personal favorite:
Tracking my cycle using - I started doing this back in 2023 all the way up until I got pregnant. Before then, I also just winged it every month. Until I was tired of being surprised.

Do you track your cycle? If so, what method do you use?!

Everyone talked about the first trimester trenches. But the third trimester is harder than I expected it to be.

So while I feel like I’m surviving, not thriving, I want to reflect on some of the positive parts of pregnancy from the last 9 months.🩵

1. My health has become about more than just myself. I’m not advocating for just little ol’ me any more. It’s me and my little - so I have to show up for both of us. And I have - far more than I have in the last few years.

2. I’m learning the value of slowing down. I am able to rest mid day, step away from work if I need a mental break, or even take a mid afternoon nap if I need it. All things I would’ve never done before.

3. While this final stretch is by far the hardest, it has been a constant reminder of how strong and capable my body is. The pains, the tears, the compression socks, and needing help to do the basic things - it’s all worth it. If I can do this - I can do anything in life.

4. Feeling his little kicks and movements is my favorite. It feels like he’s telling me a secret that only I can hear.

5. I feel a beautiful connection with other moms - I didn’t get it before. I didn’t understand the whole “it takes a village” thing before. But I get it now.

6. My focus has shifted tremendously from training for aesthetics to moving for functionality, longevity, and health. I can’t wait to move my body, on my own terms and for ME after baby boy is here.

7. I feel like becoming a mom is a larger part of my purpose in life than I ever thought it would be. Nothing matters more than my little family ever will.

8. I appreciate my body more now than ever before and in ways I don’t think I ever would have without growing a life and becoming a mom.

Pregnancy is a big wild ride. It’s not easy. But it’s been worth every moment. 🩵

If you want to feel powerful as f**k as a woman… Track your periods + everything in between. 🌸

Not only will this help you get more familiar with your body, but it can give you valuable information about yourself that maybe you weren’t aware of.

Tracking your period is great for:
- Gaining insight on your hormonal health
- Learning your body’s monthly schedule
- Being able to recognize red flags or warning signs before they get too complex
- Preventing or planning pregnancy (more on this another day - stay tuned)

And so much more.

So many women DON’T track their periods - and I get it. I used to wing it every month too. As much as I loved questioning when Mother Nature was going to make her monthly appearance and driving myself insane if it “seemed” late - I didn’t. 😵‍💫

Take control of your health this year & learn more about your body!

Think of your period like a monthly report card of your health ✍️

🌸 Your cycle isn’t just about Aunt Flow coming to visit! It’s about hormone shifts, changes in your energy, and your body giving you clues about what it needs.

Swipe to learn a bit more about each phase of your cycle & give it a save so you can reference this information later on 🙌🏻

Somewhere along the way being healthy has turned what seems to be a very complex way of living.🤦🏻‍♀️

Don’t do this.
Do this.
But not like that.
You can have that, but not that.

But what if it were simpler?

What if I told you going back to the basics can actually be the BEST thing you did for yourself?

Don’t overcomplicate your health.

You don’t need intense protocols, cleanses, 15 different supplements, or 2 hour long workouts.

You need to build a foundation off of the basics!

Sure you can add to that later on and challenge yourself - but don’t worry about that right off the bat.

Slow and steady wins the race!

What simple habits are you focusing on this week?🤓
