The OHS is a great test of an athlete’s mobility, balance, coordination, and structural awareness.

An added adaptation is the Scapular stability. There are very few movements that challenge an overhead sport athlete in both the lower trap and rhomboid area of the back muscles more thoroughly than OHS.

When it comes to producing significant intramuscular tension, motor unit recruitment, constant tension, and post activation potentiation (PAP), few protocols are as effective as Isometrics. Overcoming Isometrics involve pressing/pulling against an immovable object which allows ramping up of motor unit recruitment and firing frequency in the muscles to occur over time. The combination of tension and stretching means complete and maximal post activation potentiation of all of the larger muscles in the lower body, thereby transferring even more so to jumping and sprinting performance.

Looking for a quick “pick-me-up” snack while at home?

Try these Oatmeal, Banana, and Chocolate Chip cookies!

Ingredients
2-3 Ripe Bananas
1 1/2 Cup of Oats
2/3 Cup of Chocolate Chips (semi-sweet)

Recipe Instructions
1. Preheat Oven to 350
2. Mash the bananas (leaving no chunks)
3. Add Oats and Chocolate
4. Bake for 15-20min
5. Let cool for 5-10min
6. Enjoy!
