My son came back to the gym and we hit some much needed bench! He hit a 70 lb PR with single ply on the widow maker at 325. Super proud of him. Hadn’t benched heavy in over 6 months. Starting with the widowmaker sling. Hit 415, 505 didn’t feel quite right and decided to attempt with more spotters next time. Shoutout to who trained as well and did the camera work

Some posterior chain work today. I have been made aware as of lately that appear to be a mere mortal and I am not recovering from 900+ squats is taking me longer than 12 days. Getting old sucks! But I’m having a great gym date with the LOML

Some overhead Dynamic Effort for strongman. 185lbs BW and 50 lbs AR for a 235 total on top. Started with sets of 4 but that last rep was really slowing down and form breaking down so continued with sets 3 25 reps total. Shoulders on fire.

Max effort lower today. Late training, alone, dog tired and hungry. But you got to do what you got to do. Lose straps, and sleeves. 965 moved good at 2” above parallel (I touched the chains) but my form could have been better; needed to sit further back. I missed that right hook twice today, and that is never fun with these weights. 🤷🏻‍♂️
