This month, the play structure at the park will be undergoing renovation. The project is projected to be completed by October 21st. Please be sure and steer clear while the workers are dismantling and reassembling the structures.

The disc golf course will be closed this Wednesday, 8/17, from 5pm to close for poison ivy spraying. Please do not play on the course while the workers are spraying. Thank you for your understanding.

Just a heads up: It is typical for the disc golf course to be VERY wet this time of year as the snow melts. Expect near flooded conditions until things dry out more with some holes potentially being unplayable for a short period.

Please take note. We have already heard of a few people getting $1000 fines this week. Please call the non-emergency LPD line if you see these violations taking place. Thank you LPD for enforcing these ordinances.

Fireworks:
The Lansing Police Department is seeing a recent up-tick in the use of Fireworks in the City of Lansing.
City Fireworks ordinance specifically indicates dates and time frames fireworks can be set off.
Lansing citizen complaints on fireworks being set off have ranged from day into the evening, of which all are in violation of the ordinance.

Police Action:
Lansing Police Department will dedicate additional police resources to investigate illegal fireworks in the City of Lansing. Officers will exercise zero tolerance when observing firework violations. Violators will be subjected to a civil infraction with the fine being $1,000.00
Fireworks consumers should understand it’s not just the noise of the fireworks that are an issue, they also effect individuals with PTSD, and pets. Lansing Police request firework consumers to obey the ordinance or be subjected to penalties.

Greetings all,
Most of the disc golf course is flooded as of today. We would suggest avoiding play until we have a few sunny days to dry things out.

Please remember that there is no alcohol allowed in City of Lansing Parks. LPD can issue fines for open intox and littering.

Please help us keep the course tidy and throw your trash away. There are two trash bins at the park and we're trying to add 2 more. If you would like to go one step further, fill a plastic bag or trash bag with refuse as you make a trip around the course and then deposit it in the trash bin on your way out. If we all do a little, it will add up to keep the park beautiful.

We hope everyone is staying safe during these times. Please remember to practice social distancing while at the park with non family members.

For disc golf, we also have a few recommendations:

Groups should not exceed 4

Shots inside of 10 feet should be counted as "gimmes" to avoid additional touching of the baskets

Until the trash cans are placed at the parks, please remember to carry out your trash and if you can safely do so, chip in and help remove any loose trash throughout the park as well.
