PROMOTION TIME: Ahead of a major competition on Saturday, we did the rank promotions for May this evening. Congratulations to the following students: Zamora Edwards - white belt (Jigokan Jiujitsu), Layla Woods - yellow belt (Jigokan Jiujitsu), Amorra Cooke - green belt (Jigokan Jiujitsu), Xavier Payne - green belt (Jigokan Jiujitsu), Elias Muhammad - purple belt (Jigokan Jiujitsu), Jordan Timberlake - purple belt, Joe 4X Carpenter - purple belt/white stripe and Sergio Torres - purple belt/black stripe.

PROMOTION TIME: Nevaeh McNulty recently took her white belt test and in Professor’s words “passed with flying colors.” Today, she was promoted before the students in the evening class and was also awarded a special bracelet symbolizing her new rank. Congratulations Nevaeh!

NEW BLACK BELT ANNOUNCEMENT!: On Saturday, May 9, 2026 Professor Lemuel Muhammad promoted another martial arts practitioner to 1st Degree Black Belt. This student has been training directly with Professor for 4 years. This young man has strived hard to learn and grow in the martial arts as taught by his teacher.

We expect great things from him in the future and we are proud that he is Professor’s 7th disciple (student promoted to black belt). It is with great excitement and pleasure that we present to you Shodan Maurice Konkobo!

PROMOTION TIME: Congratulations to the following students who tested at the April 19 rank exam and have been moved to new ranks in Jigokan Jiujitsu. Apprentice student Joel Sarpong, in addition to being a purple belt in VSK Jiujitsu has also earned a green belt in Jigokan Jiujitsu! Congratulations also to Elias Muhammad (purple/green belt), Antonyo X James (purple/green belt) and Tenaj Beymuhammed (green/yellow belt) who have also been promoted!
