MISCA Race 2 MS/HS Merrell Trail Lansing Cyclones

After a rainy night, we started our MS/HS race day with a one hour delay due to rain and lightning. Luckily, the storms moved on and it was safe to race after a reroute on the advanced course. Unsurprisingly, the rain overnight and this morning did make for a pretty muddy race, but all of our racers who rode completed it safely. Riders from our first season did great for their first race this year!

Cyclones Elementary MISCA 2026 Merrell Trail

Merrell Trail in Rockford is fun and fast; a great place for a race. It's one of my favorite venues, and I was happy to head out there with our elementary riders today for the second race of the MISCA season. They did great: we had two more top ten finishes, many riders improved their results from last week against a larger field, one of our new riders raced for the first time, and everyone put a strong effort and had fun supporting their teammates.

Racing continues tomorrow for middle and high schoolers!

Cyclones: Stony Creek down, five to go

And that's a wrap on race one! Today was middle and high school races. It was the first race for two of our riders, who did great; some riders moved up to high school, including our first varsity rider.

Our next race is at Merrell Trail in Rockford next weekend. If you want to race next weekend, you need to be a MISCA member by noon tomorrow; you can register for the race as late as the day of the race.
