CREDIT WHERE IS DUE! If you thought that taking the 03/04 FSC team to #1 spot in the country or winning Dallas Cup last year was a fluke or just one group of good players, think again. While you are at it, check out the Bishop McNamara HS soccer program turn-around in the last few years. Congrats to coaches Mark, Larry and Travis (not pictured here) on all your success and good luck in the HS final this weekend vs Gonzaga. Regardless of the outcome, hats off to you.

Small youth soccer clubs raise less $ than bigger clubs and charge less money to join. It is harder to get sponsors and decent fields for training. Small clubs also face competition disadvantages as our teams constantly get placed in lower divisions/brackets at tournaments despite many times having better records (I think because smaller clubs don't register 7-8 teams at each of these expensive big club-sponsored tournaments, we get less love).

Small club coaches and managers also have to work harder than those in big clubs. Otherwise, young talent is poached and older talent gets less exposure to college coaches.

In spite of these challenges, our players work hard, stay focused, and remain loyal. And they get big club results. Those are skills they can take to the bank.
