I had to take advantage of the nice weather yesterday and got on the water for about two hours. I managed to get my first flatheads of the year and the largest was 30 #. Later today, we will be helping Mimic Baits set up for the Capital City Show and they will selling products their on Saturday and Sunday. Get on out there and get some great products in your hands for the early spring bite.

Just wanted to remind you that the NRA has renewed our contract for another year to provide seminars at the Great American Outdoor Show at the State Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, PA from February 7 - 15. We will be conducting seminars on bass and catfish fishing. We will be set up in the Fishing Hall at Booth 2408 behind the Hawg Tank. We will also be spending some time in the Mimic Baits Booth as well. Hope you will come out and see us and talk some fishing and take advantage of some great sales that will be on going all week.

Happy New Year everyone and we want to wish you a safe, healthy and prosperous 2026. We look forward to another great year of creating family memories to last a life time while enjoying Gods wonderful creation. We have started our show season as I have completed one speaking engagement at the Jefferson Sportsman's Club. I have numerous Store Visits lined up to do for Lowrance and the end of this month we will be set up at the Monoghan Fishing Show. I will keep you posted on what we are doing. My seminar this year will be on Fishing in Alaska.

Last Friday Linda and I traveled with our Church to Maryland to help with the Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child. We helped pack Christmas Shoe Boxes to be shipped to South Africa. This is a wonderful program that we like to participate in annually. The video link will tell you a little about the program. I also posted some additional video information on our Koinonia You Tube Channel. I strongly urge you to support this program.

I emptied the bait tank this afternoon. No more live bait fishing for Flathead's until spring. We had to use the tractor to break the ice at the Cabin Pond so that we could put the bait into the water. The river started slushing up yesterday so no more fishing for me until we get a warm up. Dad wacked another deer yesterday. I think he still has 2-3 tags left and he said he is going out again tomorrow. I will keep you posted.

I spent Saturday on the mountain at camp and did not see a deer. On Monday I looked out my home office window and had two deer browsing. On Tuesday I went to camp to spend a day in the woods with the newly falling snow thinking I would have great visibility. In the morning a legal buck snuck past me. In the afternoon I decided to ride around our mountain and head up top. I did not see a tail, a trail or anything. Just now as I look out my office window I again see deer. This time there was a group of 3 and a single. This is a video of the deer in the yard. On Saturday I will go back to camp and hope that history does not repeat itself.

Dad got it done today as he bagged a buck and a doe. He still has numerous doe tags to fill and I still have a buck and a doe tag to fill. Sam and Ivan were at camp and able to help dad today while I was at church and then spent the afternoon at home. Last night Sam's family came to camp and made some fresh back straps over the fire and then spent the night at camp with dad. Looks like we will be processing some meet this week and getting some bologna and sticks made. I will be working tomorrow and then hopefully heading to camp tomorrow night so I can hunt in the snow on Tuesday. We are so Blessed to have our cabin and mountain ground to hunt. The camp is rustic with no power but the gas lights, wood stove and running water keep us comfortable. I will keep you posted.

Sam and Ivan killed first thing on the first day. I hunted for over 8 hours and did not see a deer. Dad saw 5 doe and 1 buck but he did not take a shot. With snow in the forecast I am going to try to get back out after the snow. I will keep you posted. ❤️
