I've been super busy this off-season...

I'm very happy to have Bill Westfield's West Seneca Magic team coming for team hitting with me. The girls have made some great strides in their first 2 weeks. Cant' wait to see how far they will progress over the next 3 months!

Congratulations to Julieanne for winning the fastest pitch competition at the USSSA Winter Nationals in New Jersey. She won at the 14U level but also would have won the 16U age group too!

I'd like to welcome 10 year old Abbey who joins her big sister Hannah on Saturdays. Her pitching is coming along great and her lefty slapping has improved a ton over the past few weeks! Love the determination of both of these girls!

We started group pitching lessons with the 9U WNY Sting team yesterday. Some great potential in that bunch!

A big welcome to Kylie! She was a referral from another Full Ride student. She increased her speed by 4 MPH in just 45 minutes! She now throws faster underhand than overhand! She had been with the same pitching coach for a couple of years with no real progress and saw almost a 10% increase in speed in just one lesson.

Aly Waz hit 50 MPH on the radar gun for the first time a few weeks ago! Now that her foot is 100% she's really kicking butt in the field and at the plate and is making a HUGE impact on my Sting team!

A big shout out to my team and the players I give lessons to for taking on the challenge of the workout program I helped develop for them. I was assisted in developing the program by an international sprint coach, a physical therapist and 2 TRX certified trainers. This is a 12-week program the player does at home and takes about an hour a week. It will make you stronger, more flexible and increase your running speed too! Pricing is less than $100 and only requires a 4'x 4'area in your home to complete. Message me if you are interested.

At this point, I only have 8:30-9:30PM available for lessons. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturdays are completely booked. If you want the Wednesday slot or are willing to go on to my call list, please message me.

Plenty of exciting things happening over the past few weeks...

Anna hit 50mph for the 1st time

11 year old Izzy hit 49 for the first time

Julieanne has added a killer drop ball to her repertoire and we've started working on a rise ball today. High 50's with movement!

Maya pitched 2 strong games at Cayuga last weekend. She's a gamer for sure! 4 Lessons and she is on fire!

Amelia hit 54 mph last week for the first time.

Zepp testing will start next week for my hitters.

Thrilled to have Bill Westfield's West Seneca Magic team sign on for team hitting.

Aly Waz is back and healthy...kicking butt in the field, at the plate and in the circle.

Kamryn, who comes to me all the way from Hamilton, ON just made an elite team up in Canada.

Kailee, a 16U player from West Virginia who I started working with 6 weeks ago via the Internet, just threw back to back shutouts in an 18U Fall Showcase last weekend.

Last, but not least, I have been working with a strength and conditioning coach who specializes with sprinters and TRX workouts to develop a pitcher specific workout that matches up to the high level drive mechanics I teach. We should have all the details all worked out in the next week or so. Message me if your are interested in the workout - even if you don't take lessons from me.

It's time to free ourselves of the stress of tryouts. The new season is upon us...heck, the Butterfly Tournament is just 3 weeks away and Aunt Rosies and Cayuga's Lady Luck follow that up. Let's get to it!

There was a tremendous amount of change over the past few weeks. My hope is that every girl found a home. If they didn't, please reach out to me. I will try and help.

There has been plenty of change on my plate too! I'm proud to say that my 14U team is now part of the WNY Sting organization and I'm also humbled by being named to the position of President of the Niagara Frontier Girls Softball League.

More change...
I've expanded my lesson options too! I've started offering internet video lessons. I just started working with a girl from West Virginia! Message me for details!

Some great additions...
In a couple of weeks, a young lady from Hamilton, Ontario will be coming for pitching and hitting lessons. I can't wait to help her reach her potential!

A Team Easton player is starting with me in the next 2 weeks as well.

We also might have a new instructor coming on board too :)

In the meantime, Amelia hit 53 MPH and Bridie hit 41 MPH, respectively, on the radar gun.

Some parting words...

A great season starts with some respect for your daughter's coach...

A great season starts with parents having a positive attitude. It's about the team...not just about your daughter.

If you have an issue with the coach, wait 24 hours before contacting him\her.

Learn the rules! The NSA has their rule book posted for free online. Ignorance is not bliss...too many coaches are clueless on the rules.

It's always about the girls!!! Let the players be players. Let the coaches coach. Let the umpires be umpires and the parents are there to best the besst fans\cheerleaders on the planet! THIS is what makes it a positve experiece for the girls.

It's been a while since I posted...busy finishing up the season!

This past weekend, 2 of my pitchers set personal bests at the skills competition at the Mid-West World Series in Columbus, OH. Julia threw 53-52-53 MPH for a personal best and Kaitlyn threw 55-55-55 for a personal best too! Great job ladies.

10 year old Meg hit a personal best of 49 MPH this week too!

Last but certainly not least...A HUGE congratulations to Julieanne...3 Weeks ago...I posted that she hit a personal best...well tonight she set a new personal best and reached her short term goal...let's shoot for 65 by next Spring!

Special day at Eclipse Fastpitch today...

Julieanne hit a personal best 59mph today. A small tweak to her screwball added some movement too! Really impressed with this young lady's intensity and work ethic. Great job

I would like to welcome Julianne to and her family to Eclipse Fastpitch! We met a few weeks ago when Amelia was filling in for her team. "J" hadn't had a pitching lesson in over a year.

We started the lesson today with verbalizing her goals as a pitcher. Great to see a 12U player with goals!

I want to thank Chuck and Lynne for trusting me with their daughter.

Can't wait to see this young lady progress over the next few months!

We've had a couple more very busy weeks...

My Lancaster Heat team won the Coca-Cola Classic outscoring our opponents 61-12 going 6-0! This puts our win streak at 15 in a row! Really proud of these girls and all the hard work they put in! Teaching high level mechanics and having players who want to succeed makes for a winning combination!

Some highlights from this week...
12U pitcher playing up at 16U struck out 10 leading her team to victory! She hit .450 in the tournament too and was stellar on defense!

12U player playing up at 16U batted .525 with 2 doubles and was terrific playing 2nd and 3rd!

Anna hit 50MPH on the radar! This has been a goal for the past few months and I'm so proud of her and her work with her leg drive! Had a breakthrough night tonight with her curve as well!

Megan T (10U) hit 48 mph on the radar gun and her change up is getting REALLY good!

We've been extremely busy the past 2 weeks...

My Lancaster Heat team played in the Variety Club event last weekend and I'm proud to announce that 2 of my pitchers finished first and second in the fastest. Congratulations to Kaitlyn and Julia!

The team followed up with a big win at the Cayuga Lady Luck tournament. We went 6-0 in the blistering heat outscoring opponents 58-11! Highlights were Kaitlyn's 2 shutouts and 16K's. Julia tossed her third career no hitter and Amelia was stingy all weekend long with 2 big wins against Cayuga and Rochester!

A big shout out to new student Mackenzie who struck out 5 in her first travel ball game!

Lastly, congrats to my 8 year old daughter Clara for striking out 6 in 2 innings in her house game earning her the game ball! She's been working hard with me a few days a week in preparation for her first ever softball tournament this weekend!

Super proud of 2 of my pitchers. Kaitlyn and my daughter Amelia teamed up to beat undefeated Clarence today in modified high school play today. For two 7th graders to only give up 2 earned runs in 7 innings against a team of that caliber is just fantastic!

Also a shout out to 11 year old McKenzie who had her first lesson tonight. She has never pitched before...I mean NEVER! She took to the instruction like a sponge! I can't wait for our next lesson!

11U...first year travel player. 13 pitching lessons and 2 hitting lessons:

"She pitched almost a whole game last night and did AMAZING!!!! Coach took her out last inning because she threw 95 pitches and she hit awesome too!!! We can't thank you enough for all you have done for her. It's been incredible watching her progress and her confidence has really improved as well!!! Thank you again!!!!"
