Meet Coach Jen Weitzel! **Available for softball Pre-bookings!

She is currently Lampeter Strasburg's Varsity Softball Head Coach. Jen was named the 14th head coach in Lancaster Bible softball history in May of 2018 and coached there until 2023. Weitzel served as an assistant coach for the Chargers during the 2017 season, after being head coach at York Suburban High School in 2015 and 2016.

Prior to her coaching days, she played collegiate softball at NCAA Division I Rider University, where she was the captain of the Broncos during the 2010 and 2011 seasons. As a catcher and infielder, Weitzel led the Broncos in hits, runs scored and assists during her two seasons in Lawrenceville, N.J., and ranked as one of the toughest players to strike out in all of NCAA Division I.

Weitzel began her colligate softball career at then-Philadelphia Biblical University, and led the program to its first North Eastern Athletic Conference postseason berth during the 2008 season. She was a NEAC All-Conference First Team selection during that season and started and played all 64 games over two seasons for PBU.

Coach Weitzel is excited to have the opportunity to combine two very important things in her life, faith and softball. She is looking forward to helping players and parents seeking steadfast coaching in the softball world.

Meet Coach Jerry Book, an accomplished baseball coach with 15 seasons of hands-on experience guiding players from 8u to 16u. Jerry has dedicated more than half his life to the game—delving deep into not only the mechanics but also the analytics of baseball. This unique blend of expertise allows him to tailor his coaching to each athlete’s individual form, ensuring every player can reach their fullest potential.

Jerry is a continued dedicated student of the game and his approach goes far beyond physical training. He is passionate about building strong, confident players by focusing on emotional and mental development as well. Jerry believes that understanding the game—both on the field and through data—empowers athletes to grow as both players and individuals. His training sessions are designed to foster a supportive environment where athletes can learn, make mistakes, and ultimately excel.

Driven by a genuine love for baseball and a commitment to his faith, Coach Book inspires those around him to be their best in every aspect of life.
