It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dear friend and long-time Lancaster Golf Club team member, Woodrow Patterson.
Woodrow dedicated an incredible 59 years of service to Leroy Springs & Company, joining us full-time at Lancaster Golf Club as a rough mower and sand trap specialist, and continuing to lend his skilled hands and generous heart to course improvement projects well beyond his retirement in the early 2000s. Even after stepping back from full-time work, he continued to show up—reliable as ever—still maintaining sand traps and helping wherever he was needed.
Simply put, no one loved coming to work more than Woodrow. His work ethic was unmatched, but it was his spirit that left the most lasting impression. He had an infectious laugh that echoed across the greens and a quick wit that could brighten even the toughest day. Conversations with him were always a gift—full of warmth, humor and a good-natured “cut-up” that made him beloved by all who knew him.
Woodrow leaves behind a beautiful legacy, not just in his nearly six decades of service at Lancaster Golf, but in his family and community as well. He has three daughters, 14 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. He was also a devoted member of his church and lived a life grounded in faith and kindness.
