Today was the FINAL team class of the 2020-2021 season, and let me just say it was one of the BEST rehearsals I have ever run.
We started out with the 2A team and had a little chit chat and understanding that this moment right here would be the very last time that these specific dancers and this specific dance would ever be done again in their lives and that we need to finish strong, together.... and BOY DID THEY! I was absolutely BLOWN away with the dancers, the dances and how much they really put into it. EVERY DANCER and EVERY DANCE in that rehearsal had never been danced the way they did tonight..and I think it was an awakening for them. So beautiful to witness them finally coming into the dancer I knew they always were.
We then move into the senior group and again I stated that this moment right here will never happen again in their lives. The people, the music, the setting, the dances will be the last moment together, and they too DID NOT DISAPPOINT! The heart, the impact, the intention was there from beginning to end. I really couldn't of asked for anything else.
We then move into our final all team rehearsal (which I'm so glad that was the last one) and OMG, the energy, the commitment, the performance quality, the way they ALL BONDED AND WORKED TOGETHER AS ONE was something amazing to have witnessed.
This job is not easy let me tell you, but the things I witnessed tonight is EXACTLY why I love doing this work, even if I wanna scream and rip my hair out at times. I will cherish and remember this day for a long long time. I felt so inspired by them! I'm so proud of everyone, and I can't wait till we get on stage tomorrow!
