Today, on World Parkinson’s Day, I feel called to share something personal. I’m usually a very private person, but this day means too much not to open up. My passion for helping people with Parkinson’s began with my grandmother. Watching her struggle with her diagnosis deeply impacted me and shaped the path I’m on today. It’s the reason CrushPD was created, to give people hope, strength, and a community that truly understands.

What started from that personal experience has grown into something so much bigger than I ever imagined. We’ve been able to make a difference not only here in Lancaster, PA, but far beyond through our virtual classes, reaching people who might not otherwise have access to this kind of support.

What began as passion has truly become my purpose. And I’m so grateful to be able to walk alongside so many incredible individuals on their journey.

If you’ve been hearing the word neuroplasticity everywhere lately you’re not imagining it. It’s one of the biggest buzzwords in Parkinson’s research right now, and for good reason.

Blog Post: For a long time, Parkinson’s disease was thought of mostly as a genetic condition, something you were either born with or not.

But today, leading Parkinson’s researchers like Dr. Ray Dorsey and Dr. Michael Okun are helping shift that conversation. The science is becoming clearer:
Parkinson’s is not just about genes. It’s also about the environment we live in.

And that matters, especially for communities like ours.

Parkinson’s Is Rising and Researchers Are Asking “Why?”

For a long time, Parkinson’s disease was thought of mostly as a genetic condition, something you were either born with or not.
