FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — September 28, 2026

Effective immediately, John Gaglione is no longer affiliated with Revolution Powerlifting Syndicate in any capacity, including roles as New York State Chair or Meet Director. RPS extends its appreciation for past contributions and wishes him well in future endeavors.

Status of 2026 Remaining Events & Record Eligibility

RPS will officially recognize the results for record eligibility from following 2026 events when provided in an appropriate format:

• October 4, 2026: Bench for B***s – Harbeson, DE
• October 10, 2026: Mr. America Boardwalk Biceps – Atlantic City, NJ
• November 14, 2026: Cincinnati Record Breakers & Columbus Qualifier – Cincinnati, OH

All other events previously listed under John Gaglione’s direction have been removed from the official RPS Meet Calendar and are no longer sanctioned by RPS. Competitors inquiring about the removed events are advised to reach out directly to John.

Announcing a changing of the guard in Canada.

RPS is honored to have had Scott MacDiarmid leading our board of advisors, welcoming us in 2014, and maintaining a presence in Canada after Gene’s passing. Scott is retiring and passing the baton to Tavis Harris.

Tavis is an active duty Air Force officer with 18 years of service who holds a PhD in history. Scott brought Tavis into powerlifting in 2012, his career setting him up as an Elite Equipped lifter.
“I am proud to come on as the RPS Canada rep and uphold the institution that Gene and Scott did so much to build.”

Let’s welcome Tavis as he charges forward taking over from Scott.

We thank Scott for all of his hard work and friendship. He and his wife, Rebecca, will always be a part of the RPS platform and family.

This man felt that birthdays were just another day. But without the birth of Gene Rychlak, Jr. 58 years ago today, powerlifting may not be the same. My life and many others’ have been dramatically impacted by him and his dedication to the sport. RPS is here today because of Gene and his legacy continues on through it.
