An Ohio team out of Greater Cincinnati just took over the lead in regular team at the USBC Open Tournament.

Lead change in Regular Team at the !

FOF/KPT, consisting of Israel Pavy (599), Jonathan Cherpeski (757), Richard McCormick (713), Scott Kramer (593) and Jalen Mosley (703), takes the lead with 3,365. Great bowling!

UPDATE: UPDATE: The group now leads Team All-Events with 10,120. Cherpeski led the way for FOF/KPT to also take over the top spot in Regular All-Events with 2,149.

The United States Bowling Congress has selected 12 USBC Youth members to receive a Gift for Life Scholarship in 2026 and one was an Ohio youth bowler!!!

The Gift for Life Scholarships are presented annually to youth bowlers who are in high school and can demonstrate financial need. Applicants are selected based on submitted applications, must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher (based on a 4.0 scale) and provide at least two letters of recommendation.

Each award winner receives a $1,000 scholarship, managed through USBC’s Scholarship Management and Account Reporting for Tenpins (SMART) program.

Congratulations to Robert Bennett in Lancaster, Ohio.

Throughout his time at William V. Fisher Catholic High School, Bennett has maintained a 3.2 GPA while completing a number of honors courses and earning honor roll recognition five times heading into his final year. He complements his academic commitment with strong leadership in athletics as a three-year varsity football starter and bowling team captain since 2023, also becoming a USBC Bronze coach during that time. Beyond school, Bennett is dedicated to serving his community, collecting blankets for the homeless in 2023 and organizing a boot drive in 2024 and 2025 to provide winter footwear for those in need. He also has volunteered at the local United Way Community Care Center since 2022 and has served his church as an altar server since the fifth grade.

We’d like to give a shout out to a Greater Cincinnati USBC Bowler, Ric McCormick, on a very nice 868 series which ties the Northwest Lanes House Record.

He had games of 269-299-300.

What’s even more awesome… for every honor score he rolls he donates $5 to the Wounded Warriors Project.
