Shout out to the driver that shield me from a coyote during this morning's run. ๐ถ ๐จ ๐๐พโโ๏ธ
I make sure to use various forms of reflecive gear while running this time of year. I also try to run as light as possible, only bringing that which is absolutely necessary for running while Black.
On the back end of this morning's run I saw the outline of something that looked very dog-like. Quickly realizing it was most likely a coyote my pace quickly slowed to a walk so I could keep a safe distance.
Then here comes a vehicle. Nothing special, just another car on the road. But this car slowed to a stop. Hmm ๐ค ๐ค That stop was angled. And they stayed in that position until the coyote went on about their way.
Mind you, the coyote only decided to cross the street then come back over. But the kindness displayed by that driver is much appreciated.
It's not uncommon for us runners to get a little miffed when cars refuse to give us space. But just like we run our mouths, or fingers, when miffed we also need to run those same appendages when they create safe spaces.
Be well, be lighted, and be safe my friends
