So this happened.
Basically, someone in the Toms River Fire Department with enough clout to squelch their identity, called out over the emergency frequency to take up arms against Jews in the name of white power.

What does one make of a person who ostensibly has made a career of communal service and helping others, while also engaging in well known hateful rhetoric?
It could just be a completely tasteless joke. In which case a simple apology would be in order. But it might not just be that. The German people of the 1930's and 40's didn't think they were being the bad guys. Todays University students who went as far in one instance to literally imprison a few members of the janitorial staff while illegally taking over a building (IE white people literally abusing people of color) in the name of "freeing Palestine," don't think they're the bad guys either.
The Devil quotes scripture, after all.
I would hope that this would be a moment to stop and reconsider how this happened. What were the motivations here? Is this a person who is going to a dangerous place?
Some transparency would go a long way. Of course that didn't happen. That's a shame. This could have been an opportunity to build communal trust. Instead, it just builds suspicion. Can I trust the civil servant I interact with? We honestly just don't know.

Which brings us to the general atmosphere. Of course this article triggered the usual crowd of angry impotent shut ins to pound out their usual insights with whatever remaining fingers they possess. Perhaps it's was a poking stick, I doubt they can tell us which.

It's become increasingly clear that the "bLaMe dA cHeWs 4 pRawn" crowd don't represent anyone other than the community of underserved mental patients that seem to reside near here.

Folks, it's not "our fault" that you drool into your own lap. It's your own. If you don't like that you're 45, covered in saggy tats from your 20's and still work for tips, go take some classes to up your game and go live your best life. Literally no one, including the Jews, is holding you back.

Whining about your sad lot online or making T-shirts about how sad and oppressed you are is perhaps the most pathetic behavior I've ever imagined.

Does that hurt your feelings? Sorry. Never mind. You do you. You can put "But I made a really hateful T-shirt" on your epitaph. (No, I won't explain what that is.)

The rest of us, Jews and non Jews alike, will go on to lead our lives. We'll hold down jobs, raise families and do things that actually make for a fulfilling life. We probably won't buy the t-shirt, and no, I'm not going into your sh*tty bar.

It's time for everyone's favorite game: "Hot take: Bubba, Mustafa, or mental illness!"

Ok so 2 hours ago a Jewish synagogue that had school children inside was attacked. It was called a ramming and there were reports of shooting.
The suspect is reported dead, and the security guard is reported as wounded.

So no name is given, so with almost no information let's all pop off and blame our favorite culprits.

Do we blame:
1) some right wing psychopath
2) a left wing psychopath
3) a Muslim (not that he represents Islam, lots of perfectly fine Islamic people)
4) some totally mentally derranged person who was "on their radar?"
5) doesn't matter. Terrorism, no matter where no matter why no matter how is simply unacceptable.

Happy PURIM!
One of the major themes of Purim is inversion. An evil plot to destroy the Jews ends up leading to the destruction of their enemies.

This particular Purim has that very same feeling. On simchas Torah 2 years ago, Iran's proxies unfurled a plan to destroy Israel. And today Iran's "ring of fire" is all but dead. Hezbollah is being destroyed and run out of Lebanon. The Ayatollah is dead, and Iran is heading for democracy.
Indeed, we literally got to see the inversion of Sinwar/Kahmeini/Nassrallah's vision of a destroyed Israel.

In the perfect image of this difficult and yet hopeful time, Israelis all across Israel are celebrating Purim from their bomb shelters.

As the year winds on down to an end, let's take a minute to remember all the predictions being made about the Jews.

First of all, Israel.

* Israel will finally be wiped out. Hamas, Hezbollah, Houties, and Iran will all attack from different directions and wipe them out. Result? Israel won the world's first space war, intercepting ballistic missiles from Yemen. It decisively dominated Iran and its proxies, routing Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran itself. Far from being wiped out, Israel conclusively demonstrated their military domination over the entire region.

* Israel will be isolated and shunned. Israel, Greece and Cyprus just signed a military and economic cooperation agreement in the West. In the East, Israel signed a Bilateral Investment treaty with India. Israel, Egypt, and Syria are working on gas trading agreements.

* Israel's economy will collapse. Israel announced record-breaking arms agreements with multiple countries who want their cutting edge, battle-tested defense systems. Google and other giants are buying Israeli startups like the Wiz for premium prices. NVidia announced a massive design center in northern Israel. Israel's stock market was soaring throughout the war. But, yeah, BDS did put a couple of avocado orchards out of business, so there's that.

How about right here in Ocean County?

* The Feds will notice what's going on here and crack down. They did end up noticing, and they did crack down, but shockingly, they didn't end up on the sides of the antisemites. Punishing lawsuits were launched against Jackson and Toms River, the settlements still being monitored by the courts.

* Our strict zoning laws will keep out the Jews. Due to the blatant discrimination of the local towns, the courts have made it possible for schools and synagogues finally able to be build. BMG is buying a middle school in Jackson, Yeshivas and Synagogues are opening. Jews can practice their religion legally, peacefully, and without bothering anybody else, except maybe some professional victims on Facebook.

* We will pack the public meetings to make sure our towns keep out the Jews. Yes, the meetings were packed. The result is that applicants used all the antisemitic rhetoric raised in the meetings to demonstrate to the courts the blatant antisemitism behind the board decisions. A zoning denial in Brick was just overturned for precisely this reason.

We are not going anywhere. Am Yisrael Chai.
