The Lakeville Starliners Dance Team was first organized by a group of parents in the summer of 1998. The non-profit dance team was originally created for 7th-9th graders but was eventually changed to middle school dancers.
Jeanne Johnson was hired by the parents to be head coach of the Starliners. Competing during the winter months, the Lakeville Starliners have one of the most successful mid
dle school dance teams in the state of Minnesota. Our team feeds both into the North and South high school dance teams for those wishing to compete at the high school level. Dancers from all of Lakeville School District, studios and skill merge together to compete on this team.
Over the past 24 successful years, thousands of girls have been through the program, finding new friends, confidence and skill. Over the years, the team has danced at several events including the Outback Bowl in Tampa Bay and Disney World and Universal.
The coaches run a strict practice and have high standards for the team which helps lead to the success. Practices are held in local schools through community educations and at Wear out the Net. The coaching staff is not only very talented but also great mentors to the middle school aged Lakeville girls.
