🎣 Hiway Bait & Tackle Fishing Report – June 19, 2026 🎣

Good morning, anglers!

Today’s forecast is looking much better for getting out on the water. We’re expecting a high around 75°, a low near 60°, with west winds 10–15 mph. Waves are running around 3 feet, so be sure to use caution and pick your areas wisely, especially in the open waters of the Western Basin.

Walleye, perch, and bass anglers are all finding fish right now, and if you’ve been waiting for a decent weather window, today may be a good opportunity to get out and make a few casts.

Stop in and see us before you hit the water. We can get you set up with the latest reports, tackle, bait, and gear to help make your trip a success.

🚨 Western Basin Lake Erie Weather Report

Heads up around the Lake Erie Islands today — this is a blow day for a lot of folks.

We’ve got strong west/southwest winds with gusts running 30 to 40+ mph at times, and marine conditions are rough. The National Weather Service has a Small Craft Advisory in effect for parts of the Western Basin, with waves building and conditions changing fast. Winds and waves will be higher in and near any storms.

If you’re fishing around the Islands, Kelleys, Put-in-Bay, Marblehead, Catawba, or Port Clinton, use your head today. Check your marine forecast before launching, and don’t push it if it doesn’t look right.

Fishing reports and places haven’t changed much — the fish are still there, but today is more about safety than forcing a trip.

We are OPEN and fully stocked up.

🚨 Hiway Bait & Tackle Update 🚨

The fishing map hasn’t changed much, but keep an eye on the weather. We’re expecting severe storms in the area tonight, so please stay safe if you’re heading out on the water.

Also, we will NOT be doing our Wednesday night Live this week. Instead, we’ll be back next Wednesday at 7:00 PM, and it’s going to be a fun one! Make sure you tune in, ask questions, and join the conversation.

🎣 Walleye anglers, today’s looking pretty good around the Lake Erie Islands! West to southwest winds around 5-15 mph and fishable conditions across much of the Western Basin. Get out early and keep an eye on the radar later this afternoon for a few possible storms.

Hey, did anybody else see the waterspouts over near Sandusky Bay last night? Drop a comment and let us know where you spotted them from!

Good morning from Hiway Bait and Tackle!

The Western Basin forecast hasn’t changed much. Expect southwest winds around 10-15 mph this morning before shifting northwest later today. There is a chance of scattered thunderstorms, so the morning bite will likely be your best opportunity before conditions get a little rough around the islands.

We’re fully stocked and ready for your next fishing trip with live bait, tackle, and the gear you need to get on the fish.

Stop in and see us at Hiway Bait and Tackle. We got what you want. We got what you need.
