Just a reminder — we DO NOT open until 6 AM Monday through Thursday. Friday, Saturday and Sunday we’re still opening bright and early at 5 AM.

Hours may change again later in the season, but this is our schedule for now.

Looks like we’ve got a pretty fishable Sunday around the Western Basin and the islands!

🌬️ Winds: West 5–15 knots, turning NW later
🌊 Waves: 2 ft or less through the daytime
🌡️ High: Around 81°
⛅ Weather: Partly to mostly sunny with a chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm

⚠️ Heads up if you’re staying out late: Winds and waves are expected to build tonight behind a cold front, so keep an eye on the weather and don’t get caught out there.

🪱 MINNOW UPDATE: We’ve got some minnows this morning, but not a whole lot, so if you need ’em, I wouldn’t wait around.

🌡️ High: 79°
💨 Winds: S/SW 5–10 mph early, building 10–18 mph later
🌊 Waves: 1–2 ft early, building as the wind picks up
⛈️ Weather: Chance of showers and thunderstorms this morning and again later this afternoon.

Looks like early morning is going to be your better window if you’re heading out around the islands. Keep an eye on the sky and radar because conditions can change pretty quick out there.

🇺🇸 WE WILL NEVER FORGET — SEPTEMBER 11, 2001

Today, all of us at Hiway Bait & Tackle pause to remember a day that changed America forever.

We remember the innocent lives lost. We honor the firefighters, police officers, first responders, and everyday Americans who showed incredible courage in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

We remember the families whose lives were forever changed, and we honor the men and women who answered the call to serve our country in the years that followed.

September 11th also reminds us of something we should never lose — what it means to stand together as Americans. In the days that followed, communities came together, neighbors helped neighbors, and our differences didn’t matter nearly as much as what united us.

25 years later, we still remember.

From our family here at Hiway Bait & Tackle to yours, may we always remember those we lost, honor those who served, and never forget the strength and unity our country showed.

Perch are still being reported around the same areas, including out in front of Schrock’s. We’re not hearing that it’s a lights-out bite, but there were definitely people working that area.

PERCH: The perch bite is spread out right now. We’re hearing reports of fish up around West Sister, around the islands, and also up in the shallower water. There isn’t just one magic spot right now, so be prepared to move around, watch your electronics, and find the schools.

WALLEYE: The walleye are still to the east, so if you’re chasing walleye today, that’s still the direction we’re hearing the better reports from.

Stop in before you hit the water and get stocked up for the holiday weekend!
