A lot has been happening over the past week. Many limits for both trolling and drifting. Walleye fishing has been great, but the weather could use a bit of improvement; there has been a lot of wind this year.
Needless to say, June 5, with the Steve Boroff group, produced a limit of walleyes on a very calm day. Whereas the next day, we had another big 'Saturday wind event.' The Larry Tate group came and finished just one fish short of a limit. The guys battled high winds and got the job done drifting.
Then on Sunday was the Matt Miller group, and wouldn't you know it, but it was another very calm day. I have had many trips with these guys, and again, they didn't disappoint me. This group consists of about a dozen guys, where other members came around the Memorial Day holiday. Just a great group of guys who work together and enjoy being on the Badman! It turned out to be a 50-50 day of both drifting and trolling. Just a great box of fish.
Then the very next day, we had wind again, almost a little too much (again). Woody Dew, all the way from Tennessee, had his and other friends from the Tiffin area on the trip. A fantastic group that consisted of 3 gentlemen and 3 ladies. Some have never been on Lake Erie before. The trip produced a very good limit again. I understood them to say that they were looking forward to a walleye dinner.
A lot has been happening over the past week, particularly concerning limits for both trolling and drifting. Walleye fishing has been excellent, though the weather could use some improvement due to the strong winds we've experienced this year.
On June 5, the Steve Boroff group managed to catch a limit of walleyes on a very calm day. However, the next day brought a major wind event. On June 6, the Larry Tate group came close, finishing just one fish short of a limit, as they battled high winds and successfully managed to drift.
On Sunday, June 7, I had the Matt Miller group, and once again, it was a calm day. I've had many trips with this group, and they never disappoint. It consists of about a dozen guys, with some members joining around the Memorial Day holiday. They are a fantastic group who work well together and enjoy their time on the Badman! The day turned out to be a mix of drifting and trolling, resulting in a great catch.
The very next day, the wind picked up again—perhaps even too much. Woody Dew, visiting from Tennessee, brought along friends from the Tiffin area for the trip. It was a wonderful group of three gentlemen and three ladies, some of whom had never been on Lake Erie before. The trip yielded another excellent limit, and I believe them to say that they were looking forward to a delicious walleye dinner.
