Congratulations to Luis Díaz on officially committing to continue his academic and baseball career at the next level!🎓⚾️

Another member of the Catching Crew is headed to college, and this is what all the hours behind the plate are about. The early mornings, long workouts, countless reps, tough days and commitment to getting better all add up.

Proud to have been a part of Luis’ development and even more excited to see what he does at the next level.

⚾️ GLOVE LOAD — DETAILS MATTER BEHIND THE PLATE

When receiving from a one-knee-down stance with the left knee up, your lower-half positioning has a direct impact on how efficiently your glove can work.

One detail I constantly emphasize with catchers: get the knee and leg out of the glove’s path.
If that left knee is positioned too far inside, it can interfere with the glove-side elbow during the load. Now we’re creating unnecessary movement, limiting our range, and making it harder to work cleanly through the baseball.

Create space. Keep the glove load compact. Allow the elbow and glove to move freely. Then work quick and efficiently to the baseball with strong presentation.

Receiving isn’t about making the biggest movement—it’s about making the right movement at the right time.

Small adjustments can make a BIG difference behind the plate.

Train the details. Win more pitches. Become a complete catcher.

Receiving is more than just catching the baseball—it’s about being patient, quick, efficient, and presenting the pitch with purpose.

A good receiver doesn’t rush the ball. Stay quiet, let the pitch travel, and then be quick and efficient with the glove when it’s time to work. No wasted movement. No unnecessary glove action. Just clean movements and strong presentation.

The best catchers make difficult pitches look easy and borderline pitches look like strikes. That comes from patience, glove awareness, timing, and thousands of quality reps.

Train the details. Win pitches. Help your pitcher. 🎯⚾️

🥎⚾️ BUILDING COMPLETE CATCHERS.

Receive. Block. Transfer. Play at the plate. Finish with the receive.

This drill puts multiple catching skills together and forces the catcher to work, compete, communicate, and finish every rep.

I believe training should be tough. Catchers need to learn how to perform when they’re tired, uncomfortable, and under pressure—because that’s what the position demands.

We’re not just developing better mechanics. We’re developing tough, confident, competitive leaders behind the plate.

Anyone can put the gear on. Become a catcher.

🥎⚾ WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BE A CATCHER?

Being a catcher is about a lot more than putting on the gear and getting behind the plate.

It takes leadership. Toughness. Baseball IQ. Discipline. Work ethic. And heart.

You have to be willing to block the ball when it hurts. Lead your pitcher when things aren’t going right. Control the running game. Communicate with your defense. Learn hitters. Understand situations. And most importantly—stay locked in every single pitch.

Catchers don’t get to take plays off. You’re involved in everything.

Anybody can put on the gear. Not everybody can BE a catcher.

Want to take your catching to the next level? Let’s get to work. 💪⚾🥎

CATCHER RECEIVING WORK 🥎⚾️

Great receiving isn’t just about catching the baseball—it’s about body control, glove path, timing, and winning the pitch.

In this drill, we’re using the CRT Belt along with Mike Gulino’s Net Keyhole Glove to help the catcher stay connected, create an efficient glove path, and develop better feel and pocket awareness through the receiving zone.

The goal is simple: clean movements, strong positions, and consistent strikes. Don’t just catch the ball—learn how to receive it.

Want to take your receiving to the next level? Let’s get to work.
