🚩 Headed to Wilco tomorrow. We are down to:

5 bags of Equine Senior
0 Enrich Plus
0 Alfalfa Pellets

A big problem was that at LEAST 6 bags of Purina Equine Senior that we bought a few weeks ago was totally moldy and had to be thrown away. I’m hoping Wilco will replace them as we have photos, receipts, UPC bar codes, etc.

If you’d like to donate any feed, you can call an order into Wilco for us to pickup while we are there tomorrow (going around noon). Send us a message or leave a comment here so we know to ask for it 🙏🏼

Oh how time flies! It’s been 5 years since Butter popped out and surprised me. I rescued his mom, Molly from Bowie Kill Pen and gave me the best 2-for-1 deal I could ever ask for. He’s tested my patience and given me peace at the same time.

🌱🌻 EXCITING NEWS FOR RAINFALL ROOTS! 🌻🌱

We are thrilled to announce that Rainfall Ranch Rescue has received a generous grant from The Longbranch Foundation to support the continued growth and development of our Rainfall Roots Community Garden! 💚

Rainfall Roots is about so much more than planting seeds. It’s about growing opportunities, strengthening our community, and creating a space where people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities can connect with nature, learn valuable skills, and experience the joy of growing their own food. 🌿🥕🍅

Thanks to The Longbranch Foundation’s generosity, we can continue expanding our garden, improving our growing spaces, and creating FREE, hands-on educational opportunities focused on gardening, sustainability, healthy food, and environmental stewardship.

Our vision is to create a thriving community space where fresh food is accessible, knowledge is shared, pollinators are protected, and everyone has the opportunity to grow. 🌼🐝

A HUGE thank you to The Longbranch Foundation for believing in our mission and investing in the future of Rainfall Roots! Your support is helping us plant the seeds for a healthier, more connected, and more sustainable community. 💚

🌱 Together, we’re growing more than a garden. We’re growing a community!

Rainfall Ranch Rescue is pleased to announce it has been awarded $3,000 through AgWest Farm Credit’s Rural Community Grant program to be used towards hands-on gardening, agricultural, and environmental education in a safe and accessible setting.

The funds granted to Rainfall Ranch Rescue will impact the local community by providing services to Lakebay and the surrounding Key Peninsula are rural communities where transportation, distance, and limited local resources can create barriers to educational and recreational opportunities. Rainfall Roots brings these opportunities directly into the community through a no-cost, hands-on program centered on gardening, agriculture, sustainability, and environmental stewardship.

The garden will provide a welcoming place where people of different ages and abilities can learn how food is grown, participate in native and pollinator planting, develop practical skills, and build stronger connections with their neighbors and the land. By investing in permanent garden infrastructure, the project creates a long-term rural community resource rather than a one-time activity.

AgWest’s Rural Community Grants provide funds to non-profit organizations for projects that improve rural communities within Alaska, Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. This includes efforts such as building or improving facilities; purchasing necessary equipment to facilitate a local program; and funding capital improvements which enhance a community’s infrastructure, viability and prosperity.
