One of the biggest misconceptions in sports is that confidence comes after success.
It doesn't.
Confidence comes from training your mind to trust yourself before the outcome is known.
I've worked with riders, golfers, sporting clay shooters, dog handlers, and athletes from many different sports over the years. What they all have in common is this:
The best performers aren't necessarily the most talented.
They're the ones who can stay focused when pressure shows up.
When they make a mistake, they recover quickly.
When nerves appear, they know how to redirect their attention.
And when things don't go perfectly, they keep moving forward.
The mental game matters.
What sport or activity has taught you the most about yourself?
