Did you know that our Head Wrestling Coach, Brandon Lee Hinkle, comes from one of the most legendary teams in MMA history?

Coach Brandon trained under and alongside Mark Coleman, UFC Hall of Famer, UFC Heavyweight Champion, PRIDE Grand Prix Champion, Olympic wrestler, and founder of the world-famous Hammer House. Coleman helped revolutionize MMA with his wrestling-based fighting style and is widely known as the "Godfather of Ground and Pound."

The Hammer House produced some of the toughest wrestlers and fighters in the sport, and today that same wrestling mindset and work ethic are being passed down right here at Senjutsu Martial Arts.

🔥 THIS WEEK'S SPOTLIGHT: LION 🔥

Lion is only SIX years old, but he's already making a name for himself on the wrestling circuit.

Most kids his age are just getting started, but Lion has already competed in more than FIVE wrestling tournaments and continues to challenge himself against tough competition. His success isn't an accident—it's the result of hard work, consistency, and a family that lives and breathes wrestling.

If you've attended our Sunday Wrestling program, you've probably seen Lion on the mats training alongside his father, Brandon Hinkle. Whether it's wrestling practice, calisthenics, conditioning, or drilling techniques, Lion is always putting in the work.

One of the things we admire most about Lion is that he doesn't just show up—he shows up ready to learn. He listens, works hard, and embraces challenges that many kids his age would shy away from.

We're also excited to announce that Coach Brandon will be spending time with our Summer Camp students this year! Many of our campers don't get the opportunity to attend Sunday Wrestling, so this will be a great chance for them to learn from a UFC veteran, All-American wrestler, and one of the best coaches around. More importantly, they'll get to see firsthand the work ethic and dedication that have helped shape both Brandon and Lion.

🔥 FIRST SPOTLIGHT: ROME 🔥

Rome is only FOUR years old.

Normally, we don’t start students that young. But from the very beginning, there was something special about him. His focus, determination, and work ethic immediately stood out. While most kids his age are still learning how to stay engaged in class, Rome came in ready to work every single day.

In only FOUR months of training, he has already competed in his FIRST NAGA tournament and brought home a victory 🏆 — but that’s not the only thing that makes his journey impressive.

Rome also became the FASTEST student in Senjutsu history to earn his gray and white stripe belt ranking. That wasn’t given because of age or talent alone — it was earned through consistency, discipline, listening, and effort every class.

He shows up ready to learn, pushes himself, and never backs down from a challenge. That mindset is exactly what Senjutsu is all about.
